…like my own. The most talented & inspiring man I know. A treasure hunter, an avid outdoorsman, a craftsman who has built his own adirondack guide boat, guitar, furniture to name just a few. A poet & songwriter, talented singer & guitar player, able to play any song he hears without reading music. A talented photographer. My first memories related to photography are watching my Dad taking pictures, the smell of his darkroom and the images he created. He is the only person I know that would actually enjoy driving around with me for hours, searching for the perfect old barn or fields of flowers, trying to capture the golden light just before sunset. A wonderful father & grandfather. I don’t think there is anything that he can’t accomplish when he sets his mind on something or wraps his heart around it. Happy Father’s Day Dad. I love you.

And of course, my husband. For his dedication to our family, his ability to make everyone laugh, for all the rides around the backyard on the lawnmower, times he throws the ball or just lets our two little monkeys climb all over him. For all the stops at starbucks for their favorite cookies, chocolate chip pancakes in the shape of hearts on Saturday mornings & for snuggles at bedtime. And for managing to keep our grass looking this green while doing all this (yes honey, we all noticed how green your grass is). Most importantly, for loving our boys with everything he has and allowing them to be themselves, even if it means tolerating pink nail polish on the toes of a certain 3 year old.

As Father’s Day approached, I asked Braden (age 5) & Riley (age 3) some questions about their Dad & here’s what they had to say:
- What is something Daddy always says to you?
Braden: “He loves me” Riley: “Go to the kitchen & eat!” - How old is Daddy?
Braden: “23″ Riley: “123″ - How does Daddy make you laugh?
Braden: “When he says funny stuff.” Riley: ”playing clothes monster” - What is something that Daddy could be famous for?
Braden: “for going to work” Riley: “for throwing a ball” - What is Daddy really good at?
Braden: “playing with me” Riley: “teaching me how to do tricks” - What does Daddy do for his job?
Braden: “go to work” Riley: “makes pancakes & cuts down trees” (uh, okay) - What makes you proud of Daddy?
Braden: “he can spend the whole day at work, not moving” Riley: “him making pancakes” - How are you and Daddy the same?
Braden: ”we are both blonde” (anyone who has met my husband will surely find this statement amusing.) - How are you and Daddy different?
Braden: “because I have hair” (now that’s more like it) - What do you do together?
Braden & Riley: ”play clothes monster” (clearly a favorite in my house) - How do you know Daddy loves you?
Braden: “he says it” Riley: ”because I love him”
