Last year I was blessed with the opportunity to shadow three amazing photographers at a beautiful wedding on a picture perfect fall day. Leading the pack was Tom Flint, a destination wedding photographer and the bride’s big brother. If you are not familiar with Tom’s work, check out his blog where you will find “stories of love, tid-bits of wisdom and visual ramblings”… if it’s your first visit, you’re in for a real treat. Aside from his talent as a photographer, Tom has a laid back, genuine spirit that allows him to connect with those around him and to be fully present in the moment. Tom’s partner in life and photography, Kelli Marsh, was right by his side to help capture all the day’s special moments. Tom also recruited his friend and fellow photographer, Jos Smith, officially putting the talent over the top. And then there was me, taking it all in, holding reflectors, taking pictures when I could and mainly just trying to stay out of their way!
In addition to this being a great learning opportunity, I was honored to be a part of Ali & Jay’s wedding day. Here they are, fully enjoying one of their first moments as husband & wife. I could tell a lot about these two by the quality of those that surround them and I have no doubt that there will be much love & happiness in their future.
I was so inspired by this experience and am beyond excited to begin my own journey into wedding photography. I recently had an engagement session with one of the couples that have invited me to share in their special day while the flowers were in full bloom in Highland Park. Kenny & Colleen’s wedding will surely be a blast as they are a really fun couple with a group of friends that definitely like to party. Let the fun begin!
